We are looking for an outstanding Engineering Manager to lead the IS department in Oporto’s Officer. Key Responsibilities: • Leadership of all IS activities in Portugal; • Management of the delivery and support of Portuguese based development environments; • Management of the delivery of all Portuguese office based systems, including desktops, laptops, Video conferencing, telephones, and datacenters and comms room; • Adoption and enforcement of company global standards including the proactive engagement within the new structure to ensure that infrastructure and corporate IT work is aligned in Portugal to the UK; • Continuous improvement of processes through automation of common procedures, and implementation of standards, processes and checklists; • Reporting on key metrics within Portugal to the international leadership; • Recruiting and building high performance teams; • Ensure all direct reports have regular performance reviews and career plans; • Preserve agile philosophies including simplicity, visibility and direct communication. Profile: • Degree in Information Technology areas; • Experience of leading a team of engineers in a highly transactional web company • Strong experience in providing corporate IT services • Extensive experience in working within a distributed global organization • Experience of managing a diverse portfolio of work ranging from datacenter and office design and creation to desktop provision • Experienced in creation and roll-out of technical and procedural standards • Experience of working in large environments, with experience and understanding of change control and release management processes • Fluent in English (spoken and written) • Excellent communication skills.
